Summary
Spanscreen does not collect, store or share any personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no server run by us.
What stays on your devices
- The screen picture and your touch and keyboard input travel directly between your Mac and your iPhone or iPad, over your local network, a peer-to-peer Wi-Fi link or a USB cable. They never pass through the internet or our servers.
- Both apps store settings locally: the device name you choose, display preferences and the list of devices you allowed to connect.
Permissions
- Local Network (iPhone, iPad and Mac): to find and connect to your other device.
- Screen Recording (Mac): to send the picture of the Spanscreen display to your iPhone.
- Accessibility (Mac): to turn taps and scrolls on your iPhone into clicks and scrolls on your Mac.
Network requests
The Mac app checks the public GitHub API once at launch to see whether a newer version is available. This request contains no personal data beyond what any web request contains (such as your IP address, processed by GitHub).
